Workshops

Forthcoming workshops
We are currently in discussion with Cliffe Castle, Keighley and hope to offer another workshop during Autumn 2022.

Saturday 9th November 2019, Cliffe Castle
Free drop-in workshop 12noon – 3pm

‘A piece of history’
Make do and Mend!  Turn your favourite scraps of fabric into a small cushion with our free workshop.
Learn how Victorian families made patchwork fabrics from old clothes, ribbons and off-cuts of fabric.  Nothing was wasted and everyone from the lady of the house to the poorest worker would use the same technique of English paper piecing.
We will have all the tools and materials needed to make a small sample patchwork, but participants are encouraged to bring their own fabric too.

Suitable for all ages, beginners and experienced sewers alike.  There will be plenty of help on hand throughout the session.

  1. Hi, I just checked the workshop tab but the only information - on Rachel's link- is 3 years out of date. I would love to know if there are any current workshops available. Thanks.

    1. Hello! Sorry for this oversight. I've just added a link to Claire Ketteman's blog. She has regular weekly classes in the Skipton/Haworth area and is currently offering a day workshop on Saturday 3rd November at her studio in Keighley. Hope this is helpful
