Creative Thoughts July

This months Creative Thought is by Textilia member Maggie Redpath

Earlier this year I attended a course in making artist books.

The course covered the basic principles of book making and once these had been mastered we moved on to more adventurous designs using a wide variety of papers and materials

A group of us students from the course have recently displayed some of our beautifully carved and inspirational work in an exhibition

I have exhibited a series of leather bound Coptic stitch books and suede bound concertina books inspired by the pits, coal faces and coal seams of Ellington Colliery on the Northumbrian coast

The exhibition is at Number 6 Studio Pately Bridge until Sunday 19th July
