Under the microscope

Coronavirus - Jo Valentine
Our regular meetings may have been interrupted by the Coronavirus pandemic and the necessary social distancing rules, but it has not stopped our creativity.  This month's challenge was to make a 4x4" square using the highly relevant theme of Under the Microscope worked in wool using the colours red and brown.

Jo represented the virus with bullion and French knots and lazy daisy stitches on some lovely worsted cloth and Claire continued the medical theme with some red blood cells worked on tweed.

Wing of a moth - Annie
Annie chose canvas work for her depiction of with wing of a moth.  The regular stitching really evokes the mosaic effect of the tiny scales of insect wings.  Maggie's approach was machine embroidery on wool cloth - lovely detail!
